Pick Up Your Stone

Good day to ya. God has called us to fight... Are you sacrificing who God is in you to the compromise? Jesus warns us in Hebrews, Not to nail Jesus to the Cross again!

🔥 1. Sermon Title: “Five Stones. Five Callings. One Purpose—To Slay Giants”

1 Samuel 17:40

Ephesians 4:11-12

Introduction:

David’s battle against Goliath wasn’t just a story of courage—it was a prophetic picture. He picked up five smooth stones, though it only took one to slay the giant. Why five? God is speaking: Preparation, equipping, and prophetic symbolism. Today, Christ has given five ministry gifts to prepare us to slay spiritual giants.

Point 1: Five Stones for Five Giants

David chose five stones—Goliath had four brothers (2 Samuel 21:22).
God prepares us fully, not just for this fight, but for the ones still to come.

“Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” (Ephesians 6:10)

Point 2: The Five-Fold Ministry Prepares Giant Killers

“And He gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers...” (Eph. 4:11)
Each gift is a “stone” in God’s hand, shaping us into giant slayers:

Apostles send and establish.

Prophets reveal God’s direction.

Evangelists stir boldness and harvest.

Pastors care and protect.

Teachers ground us in truth.

Point 3: One Purpose — Advance God’s Kingdom

“…for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry...”
You’re not just saved to sit—you’re called to slay spiritual giants: fear, lust, depression, division, deception.

Application:

Pick up your spiritual stone. Align with a five-fold ministry. Ask God: Which stone am I? Which one is forming me?
