The Sheep and The Shepard

Mark 10:28-31

28 Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!”

29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

Reflecting on the past 2 months-I can honestly say we left everything: jobs, friends, family, our home, our community. And this isn’t  the first time we’ve been called to this kind of sacrifice, as each season has had its own set of circumstances.

You may not be in a place where leaving a home or a job or your community is possible. But God doesn’t calls us to anything that is easy…so if you were to examine your life-what do you need to surrender in order to completley follow Jesus?

These questions are hard to honestly answer. And when answers are revealed,  they are even harder to obey.

But look at Jesus’ reply-you will receive a hundred times as much.

So let us be eager to surrender and follow Jesus, knowing He will more than provide along our journey.

What a loving and caring Father we have.
